This is Me

My name is Julia Prajza (prize-uh) and I’m a professional Muralist, Lettering Artist & Designer based in Toronto with a goal of bringing more joy and colour to our everyday lives. As an OCAD University alumna (BDes) with seven years experience in Art Direction & Graphic Design, a strong desire to create tangible work has led me back to drawing and painting. I'm currently passionate about public and community-engaged art in order to uplift our spirits, inspire and empower us.

From private to public spaces, brick to glass textures, vinyl print to hand painted, I’ve produced 60+ diverse murals. I’ve been freelancing full time for the past 3.5 years where I’ve led and curated public art projects, facilitated workshops, organized community murals and more. As I continue to grow and expand my multidisciplinary practice, I hope to spark curiosity, encourage creativity and cultivate human connection.

my unique ART style

Forever Inspired by Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts Movement, my flair for pattern and love of decoration is here to stay. A maximalist at heart, I believe that "more is always more," which is captured in my floral and text-based work.

My signature style is playful and delightful, full of vibrant colours, folk inspired details and a whimsical feel. Blending organic flowing forms with a graphic, bold approach, my unique “modern-meets-traditional” aesthetic reflects the charm of the past seen through fresh eyes.

To keep things exciting, I like to follow my unique curiosities and try out different creative medium for fun. (I actually took a soft pastel plein air painting workshop last summer and fell in love with it)

In the rare time that I am not creating…

You can find me doing yoga, covering every inch of my house with art, cooking up a vegetarian storm in my kitchen, sending out snail mail or wandering the laneways of Toronto - on the hunt for new street art.

I can also be found enjoying a delicious chai latte in the city. (Currently my favourite is from a small South Indian cafe: Madras Kappi)

to keep things fresh

I like to keep busy, make plans, brainstorm new creative projects, complete lettering challenges and work with fellow creative people on diverse projects.
